Greetings! My name is Jett Reed, I’m the newest contributor to the SVSLI blog. I’m a junior at James Madison University, majoring in Organizational Communication and soon to minor in Sports Communication. I’m from Virginia Beach, where I work as a manager of a gym. I’m looking forward to being a part of the SVSLI team by offering interesting posts on what the organization is doing, as well as other stories throughout the community.

The SVSLI organization and I have a lot in common. I was brought up in a home where we learned to help others, never thinking of ourselves first. By working with SVSLI, I’ve learned that a number of promising Latinos and Hispanics in the Shenandoah Valley don’t have the privileges I had. That’s where the SVSLI steps in to create learning opportunities and support positive relationships. We are all human beings who deserve the same opportunities for education and an equal chance to find our career. That’s why I’m glad to represent an organization like SVSLI.
